Being Planted People in the ChurchRandallMuse@hotmail.com Avoiding Division and Selfish Ambition! Watch out for selfish ambition that tries to divide you from your mother Church and makes you think you can make it on your own. You may make it with powerful results, but you'll be less effective than if you stay under the covering of your mother Church, even if you don't agree 100% doctrinally with every single little thing they do or teach. Unity is more important than splitting, starting your own Church, etc. and causing a division. Your patience will establish a greater manifestation of character for you to establish submission and the rule of God in others when you get out on your own. Don't expect your spiritual father and or mother to be perfect in everything they do, and don't always expect them to know everything about you. They may not see your gift and character in the same light you see yourself, just yet. If you know the Church you are attending is the Church that God has ordained your life and Ministry to be established and permanently planted in, then stay committed no matter what. Too many Christians are either failing to commit to or are divorcing their mother Churches. Even if your Ministry Gift involves being launched out into your own Ministry or starting another Church, the minister should still remained spiritually hooked up to their Mother Church. If one's ministry gifting is like the gift of helps, and does not require him to later be launched out geographically to another area in his service toward God, then that individual should remain committed and permanently established in Covenant Relationship with their Mother Church. Ps 1:2-4 But they delight in doing everything the LORD wants; day and night they think about his law. 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season without fail. Their leaves never wither, and in all they do, they prosper. 4 But this is not true of the wicked. They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. (NLT) There are too many fruitless Christians in the Churches today because there are too few Christians planted along the riverbank. The life of a submitted and committed Christian should be one of "bearing fruit each season without fail". But the Bible says that those who practice wickedness "are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind." Too many Christians are scattering instead of gathering in the Church today. When a Pastor or speaker does or says something they don't like, or if the Church votes to have blue carpet and a tithing member wanted red, that person's works then becomes like worthless chaff to that local Church, and they are scattered by the wind of offense and sometimes the exposure of their sin. To be scattered by the wind means to be scattered by some ungodly influence. That influence can be a spirit or an attitude of the heart. The Bibles says that there are some Christians who just want to do things their own way and don't want to listen to godly leadership. 2 Tim 4:3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to right teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever they want to hear.(NLT) The Bibles says that eventually we should "no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind..."(Eph 4:14) If we want to be Fruitful and productive Christians that "bear fruit every season WITHOUT FAIL", then the Bible says that we must become like trees that are planted. We must be permanently planted in the fertile soil of a Mother Church that nourishes us in the Love of the Living Word along the riverbank of God's spiritual resources. Christians who are Church hoppers that can never seem to find the right Church are those who really don't want to be committed to the Body of Christ. They are constantly uprooting themselves and can never obtain the fullness of what God has for them because without being committed to a Church Body, one can never develop the roots of permanency that are necessary to constantly draw nourishment for full growth. They are Christians who diminish, impair and blemish their own growth record. For the amount of time they've been Christians, they are not at the level of spirituality and growth in the character of Christ they should be. Paul stayed planted in his Mother Church until the Holy Spirit inspired the leadership to release him and Barnabas into their ministry. Acts 13:2-4 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." 3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. 4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. A Mother Church is like a fertilization chamber where the Saints of God become impregnated with ministry and godly dreams and desires which are then eventually given birth to and established on the earth as the Holy Spirit, and not our selfish ambition and lack of patience, releases us into ministry at the appointed time, avoiding premature birth to our dreams and visions that may cause them not to survive. While I realize that not every Church is for everybody, and the Holy Spirit does uproot us from some Churches until we find our Mother Church that has the richness of soil necessary for our particular gift and calling, constantly looking and never seeming to ever find the right Church should not be a habit of Christians. Jesus Christ is married to the Church which is an attitude and character trait we all need to have also. We need a greater sense of unity and covenant relationship with the Body of Christ to reach this last generation. The world is looking for stability, a refuge, somewhere they can put their trust, and unless we become planted members of the local Church like a tree, then we will never have the fruitfulness or effectiveness necessary to win this lost generation. (NLT) Let us repent of the spirit of divorce and become covenant Christians like Christ, married to and PLANTED in the Church. ~ Randall A.
